Brighten Your Day

After the teaser of gorgeous weather last week, all I have been able to think about lately is spring. If winter weather has returned to you, like it did to me, I hope these bright, fun colors will brighten your day! :)

1. Gold Leaf Bracelet: Lulu's Seriously, how gorgeous is this bracelet? I am in love with it!
2. Clemence Posey via onions + garlic Clemence Posey is so pretty and her French style is impeccable!
3. Floral Dress: Forever 21 My list of pretty summer dresses that I want is getting longer and longer...
4. Buckled Crossbody Bag: Forever 21 via Cupcakes and Cashmere This is like a cheap version of Kate Spade's Scout Crossbody. I need it now.

Fearless Fridays: Feathers

When I first saw Ariana's giant feather on Pretty Little Liars (guilty pleasure- don't judge!), I was a bit apprehensive, but I must admit, the trend has been growing on me.

While I don't think I could go all-out like the above pictures, I think these more subdued options could work:

Trendy Tuesdays: White

White is back in a big way, and I couldn't be more excited! It love how it can easily go from sharp and chic to sweet and summery. Dolce and Gabbana's Spring 2011 collection has been everywhere lately; this dress alone was worn by like a million different people! Another one of their dresses has been on three different covers. Talk about good PR!

Trends: The 70s

One of the biggest trends for spring this year is the 70s! I love the look of flattering wide-legged jeans and a loose, flowy top. I'm not really sure if this is really the "70s look" (I wasn't even alive then), but this is my interpretation of it. First the inspiration:

1. Michael Kors Fall 2011- Loved his entire collection- so luxe and  uptown, while still maintaining that laid-back, all-American look he's famous for.
2. Tory Burch Fall 2011- This to me was the biggest example of the 70s style on the runway.
3. Marc Jacobs Spring 2011 RTW- This collection was to die for. A little over the top, as per Marc Jacobs, but so much fun!
4. January Jones- Love the way she interpreted the 70s into a modern day look!
5. Halston Fall 2011 RTW- Mustard yellow is my fave- glad to see it isn't going anywhere! :)
6. Old 70's Photograph- I thought this picture was really cool, and a more realistic depiction of the 70s style.

Recreate the Look: Brights and Khakis

I have been in love with this look from J. Crew from the minute I saw it:

Here are some (slightly) cheaper options to recreate this look:

The shoes were kinda hard to find, but I did my best! I also included some nude flats and pumps if you aren't really into the whole ankle-clobbering shoe look. (Side note: wouldn't this outfit also look really cute with a black and white flower pin?!)

If you can afford to get the real deal (oh, how I wish I were you!), here's a link to the pants: New Cafe Capris
The only similar sweater I could find was the one I already linked (on sale!). Here's the shoes: Loxley Buckle Peep Toes. Personally, I think the shoes are a bit overcomplicated, but that's just my style :)
